Last year our supplier Gardman launched a joint campaign with The Royal British Legion to raise money for their charity. The range included a stylish Poppy Bird Feeder and 2 sizes of limited edition premium wild bird seed blend. For every one of the products that was sold, money was donated to the Royal British Legion. The aim was to raise £200,000 for serving members and veterans of the UK Armed Forces and their families.
These products proved to be extremely popular with our customers! During the autumn last year we were having to restock the shelves week after week. In total the campaign raised £218,359.
This year Gardman have relaunched the range and are looking to raise an impressive £350,000 this time around. The range which will be stocking at Monkton Elm for 2017 will include the ‘classic’ Cast Iron Bird Feeder, a Glass Bird Bath and a Glass Poppy Table.
The Royal British Legion is a UK charity providing lifelong support for the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Reservists, veterans, and their families. It also campaigns to improve their lives, organise the Poppy Appeal and remember the fallen.
Louise Ajdukiewicz, Head of Corporate Partnerships at The Royal British Legion, says: "We are excited to be partnering with Gardman this year through the sale of Poppy Bird Feeders. The money raised through these will enable The Legion to continue its work providing vital care and support to members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families."
