Cupcake making for Children to raise money for Alzheimer's Society

June 12, 2017

We will be hosting a Cupcake Day on Thursday 15th June to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Andrew Pitman, our store manager, said: “We will be giving children the chance to decorate their own cupcakes. They will be able to decorate the already-baked cupcakes with their own colour choice of icing and sprinkles. The children can then take their cupcakes home or eat them in our restaurant. This is a great way to raise money for a worthy cause whilst having fun at the same time!” Cupcake decorating will cost £1 per cupcake and will run from 14:30-16:30. All materials will be provided by the garden centre. No booking is necessary.

Andrew added: “If you’re not feeling too artistic on the day, then why not head over to the restaurant where you will find a selection of delightful cupcakes already decorated for you by our in-store baker, Megan.

There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. Dementia describes different brain disorders that trigger a loss of brain function. These conditions are all usually progressive and eventually severe.

Every last crumb raised on Cupcake Day will go towards finding a cure and changing the lives of people affected by dementia. We hope to see you there!
