Donate your old hand tools to be refurbished and donated to worthy causes

February 18, 2018

In 2018 we will once again be supporting the Tool Shed project, which is run by The Conservation Foundation. The foundation takes old, broken or unwanted hand (cultivating) tools and sends them for refurbishment. This is carried out by volunteers at HM Prisons.

This scheme brings three benefits… It provides free tools for schools and community gardens, it aids prisoner rehabilitation and saves from old tools being sent to landfill, which benefits the environment.

We are renewing our call for customers to donate their old, broken and unwanted hand cultivating tools at the garden centre this year. We also have some bundles of tools to give away to schools and community gardens. If you would like to nominate someone to receive a bundle, please get in contact with Steve Searle, our store manager. The best way to contact him is via email at s.searle@monkton-elm.co.uk.
